The 4 to 5 oz leather is natural water buffalo, giving you an extremely soft, thin and comfortable option inside the waist pack. Glock 30 & 29 Holster

Handmade Garments Made in the USA by Hardworking Americans! All our clays are NO B.S. Lifetime Warranty!! The first time I picked up a Glock 30 a few years ago, I said it felt like I was holding a potato. I had my hands full and it looked like it

Compared to other guns I've owned. Not bad, but more solid than most. Maybe I liked it because I only bought it a few months later.

Full disclosure: I am new to most of the guns I review and the review is based on my first impressions. Not so with this post. I had an original G30 before the 30S came out and in 2014 I sold my G30 to get the G30S model. It's lighter and thinner than the original model, and it's a gem of a gun; An excellent .45 thumb in a compact frame that feels right to me. With the exception of the fact that it is chambered in .45 ACP, the Glock 30S is probably my favorite handgun.

Glock 30 Concealed Carry

The first and last reason to consider a Glock pistol of any kind is simplicity and reliability. There is no simpler, more reliable handgun on the planet than the Glock. Additionally, the G30S is designed for concealed carry - it's a compact version of the Glock 21 duty pistol. So, you might consider the G30S for its easy concealability (it's a bit smaller than the G19) .

Looking Back: 6 Years With The Glock 30sf

You may want to consider the G30S for your .45 chambering, as many people prefer to have fewer large caliber rounds on their side. If you have larger hands, you may want to consider the 30S because of its tighter radius. .45 is double steel, so it has a meaty grip that fills the hand. Despite the large chamber, double storage of large rounds in the mag, and meaty grip, the G30S is a relatively light handgun, weighing just over 30 ounces loaded.

The Glock 30S is a slightly scaled down version of the G30. The main features are a thinner slide width (1" compared to 1.12") and a lower slide weight (it's a full 3.5 ounces lighter than the G30's slide assembly), and with the SF frame, the 30S achieves slightly shorter trigger. and overall grip radius compared to the regular G30.

, but it has the saving grace that it is very easy to contour with a Dremmel sander for a perfect fit and comfort. I believe all Glock pistol frames need a contour as well as a stain, so my 30S is done that way. So for me, my Glock 30S fits like a glove.

I would expect some to find the G30S grip more comfortable than other Glock models due to the extra grip. I do this and see my average knot size and trigger which is good.

The .45 ACP round has quite a bit of recoil compared to the 9mm, and any .45 round will have some pop from a dense polymer frame. The G30S is said not to be harsh by any means. Due to a slightly wider than normal grip and the softness of the plastic, the gun is very deep. I have no problem shooting as fast as I can with Bill's precision drill, and I can push my finger with this gun, and if your grip is right, it's an easy gun to control. As with comfort concerns, the frame can be contoured to provide better thumb purchase to help with recoil control.

One thing I would like to note is that while the 10 round magazines allow almost anyone to get a full grip on the gun, the 9 round fluid magazine has enough grip that pink in the grip is not a good buy. . For those with large hands, pink may not be a buy at all. The output isn't as short as, say, a G26, but the fact that it's a .45 may mean that some people want a full grip of 10-round magazines to help manage impulse administration.

I'm used to carrying a Glock 19 all day and find the G30S conceals even better than the G19. This fact is mainly due to the shorter length. The slide is about the same width as the G19, but the frame is only slightly wider, and there is no hidden difference. Overall, this is an easily concealed pistol; and only slightly heavier than the G19. The G30S is actually quite a bit lighter if you have a 9 round magazine.

The most common extended magazines are 10 rounds, which hold 11 in your gun. This ability isn't bad at all, especially considering the compact package and long grip. No complaints here.

Well, it's a Glock. The Glock 30S is built like any other Glock pistol and the frame has a Gen 3 finish. The back is of the double spring type. Like most Glock pistols, the G30S comes with polymer sights with a rear U-inset. You will probably want to replace these stock sights with some type of cast iron sights.

The 30S slide has a bull outline on the muzzle port, but is otherwise identical to any other model. The slide lock lever and release tabs have a very low profile, providing the simplest and smoothest external controls in the business.

Despite its simplicity and reliability, customization is the Glock's best friend. Almost every aftermarket manufacturer in the world makes replacement parts and accessories for Glock pistols, and if you're looking to replace or upgrade components, you have a wide variety of options to choose from.

Note, however, that unlike some Glock pistols, the G30S does not have a retractable magazine. If you are left-handed, the G30S requires you to use the magazine release as is. It's not a huge setback, but it's a departure from almost all modern Glock models.

Concealed Carry Positions

I picked up a Glock 30S a few years ago and it was my everyday gun for about a year. I wore the gun inside the waistband at the 5 o'clock position with a 9-round flush magazine in the gun and 2 10-round mags in the OWB holster on my left side around the 8 o'clock position. This device hides very well under a simple t-shirt, in part due to the compact nature of the G30S with a water-filled magazine. Even with the oversized magazine, the G30S has a shorter grip than the G19 (which is my current daily carry), so it's perfectly concealed no matter where you carry it.

Fully loaded, the G30S is less than .4 ounces heavier than the fully loaded G19, at 30.36 ounces. It's not very light, but for a double .45 pistol, it's pretty impressive. I find it easy as long as you have a good belt
